New Leadership for Affordable, Reliable Public Power
Sara is running for the OPPD Board of Directors because she believes Nebraskans deserve reliable, affordable electricity and a public power system that puts people first.
Keep Electricity Affordable
Everything is getting more expensive, and electricity is no exception. Sara understands the pressures that families are under as costs go up faster than wages. Sara will work to keep rates as low as possible while maintaining safety and reliability.
Provide Safe and Reliable Power
We need to plan ahead and maintain equipment properly to ensure we have safe and dependable electricity when we need it. Sara will work to ensure that OPPD properly maintains its existing equipment and plans for the future. Sara supports both traditional solutions, as well as innovative ones, to keep up with the demand coming from our growing communities.
Protect Public Power
OPPD is a publicly owned utility. That's important because it's supposed to work in the best interests of all its customers — who are its owners — not outside interests. Nebraska is the only state with 100% public power. We the people control it, and we need to make sure that is always the case. As a Director, Sara will listen to the needs of the public and work with management to make sure those needs are met.
